Sunday 19th May saw the annual Faversham Creek Rowing Race. This year it was particularly important as the event like many Creek based events was started and run by Lena Reekie who sadly died in January this year.
She very much wanted the creek to be used and enjoyed by everyone. With this in mind over 40 craft took to the water with many participants in fancy dress. A good time was had by all and the prize giving held at The Anchor where with the help of a raffle and many generous donations more than £600 was raised for Pilgrim’s Hospice in Canterbury.
The winners were as follows:
1st dinghy home – Louis Denton & James Rubinstein
2nd dinghy home - Barry Walpole
1st canoe home - Raff Wilcox (canoe)
1st lady rowers – Lisa & Paula from N. Ireland (dinghy)
