Faversham is invited to Make a Scene!
Faversham’s budding playwrights are invited to sign up for a place on the Make a Scene playwriting course that will see a new stage show written for the town’s annual performing arts festival, Faversham Fringe.
The new project will focus on the compelling story of the Faversham born-and-bred National Rink Hockey Team that won the European Cup of Nations in 1930. The production will be inspired by and incorporate the musical presentation The Skate Boys of Faversham Town written by Geoff Sandiford.
A heavily subsidised 12-week playwrighting course will run from mid-May, offering would-be playwrights the guidance of a professional writer and director, with support from the Co-operative Community Fund. The charge for the 12-week course will be £50, with concessions available to those in receipt of benefits.
Anyone interested in the staging and performance of the show is also invited to get in touch – there will be opportunities for performers and back-stage crew in the Faversham Fringe performances of the show.
