It is good to see the front page of Inside Swale (our borough council’s quarterly newsletter) is devoted to a picture of Standard Quay bristling with seaworthy boats.
Unfortunately, this was taken over ten years ago when it was still a vibrant working boatyard. Hardly the sad collection of houseboats on display now.
If the previous Conservative-led Council had been less developer friendly, people may have been able to see a similar maritime sight today.
